Guidelines and requirements for preparing and submitting your manuscript to WJAS.

Manuscript Submission Checklist

Ensure all the following items are prepared and ready before initiating your submission:

  • Cover Letter: Must state that the work is original, has not been published elsewhere, and all authors approve the submission.
  • Title Page: Separate file containing authors, affiliations, contact information for the corresponding author, and conflict of interest declarations.
  • Main Manuscript: Text file (Word or LaTeX) without author identifying information (for double-blind review).
  • Figures and Tables: High-resolution figures uploaded individually (TIFF or JPEG format).
  • Ethics/IRB Statement: Required for all human and animal studies, confirming institutional approval.
  • Reference Style: All citations formatted strictly according to the **Vancouver style**.

Article Types and Length Limitations

Maximum word count limits exclude the abstract, references, and figure/table legends.

Formatting and Structure

A. Main Document

  • File Format: Submit in DOCX, DOC, or RTF format. Use 12-point font (Times New Roman or Arial) and double spacing.
  • Structure (IMRAD): Original research must follow the Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion format.
  • References: Must be numbered sequentially in the order they appear in the text (e.g., [1], [2-4]). Use the Vancouver style for the final reference list.
  • Tables and Figures: Each table and figure should be cited in the main text and placed at the end of the manuscript with appropriate titles and legends.

B. Ethics and Consent

WJAS adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics. Submissions must include:

  • IRB/Ethics: A statement that the study was approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) or equivalent ethics committee, including the approval number, is mandatory.
  • Informed Consent: Documentation that informed consent was obtained from all subjects. For Case Reports, written consent from the patient (or guardian) must be secured and mentioned in the manuscript.
  • Conflict of Interest (COI): All authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, financial or otherwise, on the Title Page.
